CCRRF Wine Rail Excursion to D'Anbino Winery

D'Anbino Vineyards and Cellars was the featured winery on this trip.

It was National Train Day, and the SLOMRA had a couple train layouts set up at the SLO Amtrak Station.

Amtrak's northbound Coast Starlight arrived just a few minutes late.

CCRRF Director Curtis keeps an eye on the excursion group...

The wine tasting started right away!

A highlight of the train portion of the excursion is crossing the Stenner Creek bridge and going around the Cuesta Grade horseshoe curve. Barely visible at the top of this photo on the rails is a white Union Pacific Railroad hi-railer (truck on railroad wheels) "chasing" the Starlight.

Curtis points to our destination winery about 15 steps from the train.

We enjoyed listening to Don Lampson during our entire stay at D'Anbino.

Music is a big deal at D'Anbino. You've got to stop by to find out why!
