AFTER 21 YEARS, SLO RAILROAD MUSEUM OPENS DOORS TO PUBLIC WITH OPEN HOUSE

After 21 years that the Museum organization has existed, the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum will open the doors of the historic 1894 Southern Pacific freight house for a special Open House and Public Viewing to see the current progress of the Museum construction and development. Saturday October 6th from 10 am to 4pm.

San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum is having a Special Public Viewing and Open House. The Public is invited to attend this FREE event to see the progress of Museum construction. Help the SLORRM raise funds for the construction and restoration of the future museum located in the historic 1894 freight house near the SLO Amtrak depot in San Luis Obispo. The free Open House event will be held Saturday October 6th from 10 am to 4pm as part of the Central Coast Railroad Festival. The event will be held at the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum located at 1940 Santa Barbara Street in SLO. Just south of the Amtrak Depot. Members of the Board of Directors will be on hand to introduce the future Museum to the public. Come join us for this special day!

The Open House is FREE and open to the public. There will be several activities to participate in, including:

• Train Town USA Dedication Ceremony for San Luis Obispo (11am)
• Historic Railroad Motorcar "Speeder" Rides on the Museum's Railroad Display Track ($3 donation per ride)
• Historic Walking Tours - Learn about the Museum area and Emily Street Yard
• HO Scale 'Free-Mo' Operating Model Railroad Modular Layout
• On30 Scale 'Yosemite Short Line' Operating Model Railroad Modular Layout
• Railroad Swap Meet - Railroad items for sale with proceeds that benefit the Museum
• Historic Artifacts & Equipment on Display - A Sampling of Things to Come
• View the Future Museum Interior Improvements in the Historic 1984 freight house
• Visit the Future Museum Model Railroad Area Depicting the Central Coast
