"Surf and the Southern Pacific"

"Surf and the Southern Pacific" provides an indepth look at railroading in California's Lompoc Valley, and an intimate look at the last days of a working train order station. It showcases the Lompoc and White Hills branch and is a presentation with a bit of railroading for just about anyone ... the rail historian, steam and diesel enthusiast, even the 'juice' fan, for the documentary gives an in-depth look at the 250 volt, three foot narrow gauge railroad, that carried loads of Diatomaceous earth through miles of underground tunnels at the former Manville Corporation mine above Lompoc. John Roskoski's photos have appeared in Trains magazine, the Union Pacific Calendar, Pacific Rail News, Railfan/Railroad, Surfer magazine, Snowboard Magazine, Associated Press, other publications and museum exhibits.
