The Central Coast Railroad Festival is hosted by the

As has become a tradition, the 2016 Central Coast Railroad Festival will feature a

website). The tours will take place Thursday through Sunday (Oct. 6-9) in San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties. A similar number of railroads will be available during this year's Festival.

Pacific Coast Railway (PCRy) Field Trip
May 21, 2016
Kevin O'Roark of the
Friends of the SMVRR will lead this exploration of the less-celebrated portion of the PCRy right of way from the Santa Maria River crossing south to Los Alamos. The old right of way is clearly visible in many areas with a few other unexpected treats along the way! We'll meet at 10am at the Santa Maria River Levee Trail access, at the end of Preisker Lane. From the North or South on 101 take the Broadway exit and turn right on Preisker lane, it's the first traffic signal. Follow Preisker Lane to the end, there's a small parking lot on the right where we'll leave our cars and car pool from there. We'll stop for lunch (BYOMoney) at the Historic 1880 Union Hotel Saloon in Los Alamos and visit the only remaining Depot of the Pacific Coast Railway. We should be back at the parking lot at 2:30pm.
Friends Membership and RSVP required; limited seats, Contact Friends.
